Lefty’s Sunday Selection Of Best Tweets [That’s An Oxymoron, Lefty, If You Ask Me! – J.C. But Jeremy, I Am *Not* Asking You! So Will You Kindly – And Literally – Butt Out Of My Headline, Please! – L.], 19th-26th February

Hello, friends.

And I expect you’re all still celebrating last week’s literally amazing byelection successes, where Labour managed to hang on to that notoriously Hard-Right constituency, Stoke, and only narrowly missed winning the viciously Far-Right Copeland by a couple of thousand votes!

I do hope that your exuberant mood will not be too badly punctured by some rather sad news that I must impart, which I know will disappoint many of you, i.e. the viciously neoliberal, Climate Denying Friend Singer Beneath Bridges.

Tragic, friends!

Due to Hard-Right Tory Austerity, my weekly roundup will not be appearing next Sunday. Instead, an expanded edition will appear the following Sunday (March 12th). Hopefully, though, thanks to a forthcoming grant from Our EU – which, of course, will not in any way affect this Blog’s totally impartial and objective opposition to Hard-Right Brexit – a weekly service [Ha! J.C.] will be resumed after then.

Anyway, friends, enough about the future, which only Our Experts can predict accurately! Here are last week’s tweets:

Sunday 19th February

Monday 20th February

Tuesday 21st February

Wednesday 22nd February

Thursday 23rd February

Friday 24th February

Saturday 25th February

Sunday 26th February

********************************************************

Let us sing together, friends!

And finally [Phew!J.C.], it’s time for our little sing-song together, friends! And, in the aftermath of Our Byelection Triumphs, what could be more appropriate as our anthem today than my specially-adapted version of that stirring chorus from that lyrical and musical classic, Our Red Flag? Friend Cheryl has kindly agreed to play the organ for us today – thanks, Cheryl! (If any other readers are willing to undertake this duty in future, just mention this in the comments below, and I’ll literally add you to my Little List!) All together now, friends:

So raise the scarlet standard high, whilst supporting Our Jeremy all the time,
Beneath its shade we’ll live and die, and win a 2020 Election landslide,
Though the Banksters and the 1% flinch, and Red Tory traitors predictably sneer,
We’ll totally smash the evil Tory scum, and keep the red flag flying here!

  1. No tat next Sunday – hurrah, multitudinous and multifarious cheers!!!! (Is the roof still on?)
Double tat Sunday week (much sadness and gnashing of molars) – time for a sabbatical. Will the tweets have kept their insipid flavour, or will they have out-of-date out-of-date stickers on them?

  2. Wow-some sermon, some service THAT was.
Thanks to Alixir, Leah(Leer!!!)and the former Mrs Fletcher for their ministrations and relief work behind the vestibule. You girls rock!
This letter from the Bishop above WAS read out-well, we started int-but faith is a matter of simply FOLLOWING Bishop Left….none of us need to think on anything said, since that is to DOUBT our leaders modus operandi.
The communion wine flowed and the sermon also came out in joyful spurtation-thankfully, one for gals has taken the cloths that were touched by the purple mitre of progress home for a good clean-think wax comes out with a hot iron and brown paper, Sherry baby!
Suffice to say that the organ playing was a good as it gets this morning…and hope now that Sunday Warship will “come” from St JoCoxx Parish Church next Saabaff.
Hospital Radio CoffinFM will be broadcasting it, wonder if our dosser under his bridge would care to share his story-if not the girls, who are all mine now!
Beauty of hospital radio is that the ailing can`t turn it off.
Hello Aileen!….fancy a grope session again to study the Book of Love?

  3. Re your latest tweet Letfly. I too am looking for a bad Penny – to share my lonely bridge and drink my remaining Creme de Menthe. I have been looking in the wrong places – mossy fells and the blue ocean. Thanks for the advice, but how did you know?
