Lefty’s Friday Selection Of Tweets, 22nd-29th September

Hello, friends.

And a – literally – very warm welcome to you all for this week’s selection of tweets, which I hope you’ll enjoy. As there are 30-odd [Most of them are very odd, Lefty!J.C. Cheeky!L.] of them, and because several of them have quite a lot of text, I’ll keep this introductory piece short [Phew!J.C.]

My thanks as ever to everyone whose tweets I’ve mentioned here, and to those good people who’ve contributed to the threads, which can easily be read here, by dint of simply clicking on the tweet in question!

Saveed Miliband’s “Guardian” Pieces, Part 27: Four Comments (One On Our Prison Breakouts, And Three On The Fascist Trump) From November 2016

Hello, friends.

And I expect you’re all enjoying Our Labour Conference as much as I am, aren’t you, friends? And it’s particularly gratifying to see that my imaginative idea about how to fund Labour’s spending plans has now been widely adopted, i.e. rather than continually talking about “tax rises” – which might give the unfortunate impression that Labour would need to raise the basic rate of tax to 95p in the £ to fund all its plans – we’re just saying we’ll *borrow* all the necessary money instead!

After all, borrowing £500 billion – or whatever we need, which come to think is probably a lot more than that – has got to be easier than raising taxes to 95p in the £, hasn’t it, friends?

In-depth analysis of Labour’s economic strategy, friends!

Anyway, enough of all this in-depth analysis of Labour’s economic strategy. [Ha! J.C. Oh hello, Jeremy! I – literally – can’t wait to hear your Conference speech tomorrow! By the way, do you think anyone would notice if, rather than going to all the bother of writing a new blog about it, I simply reissued the one I wrote last year?L. No comment!J.C.] Here’s the latest instalment of Saveed’s Greatest Hit-ettes: four pieces I wrote in the Far-Right Guardian last November. As ever, a link to the original article and my comment, along with any replies, is provided under each piece.

Austerity will unleash mayhem. Prison breakouts are just the start (article by Owen Jones, 8.11.16)

Friends! Owen has literally put his finger on the problem of so-called criminality, which is actually nothing more than some of the poorest and most vulnerable people in our so-called country – e.g. Our Junior Doctors – protesting against Hard-Right Tory Austerity in the only way they can!

In any case, the only true “criminals” in this so-called society of ours – which, never let it forgotten, friends, Thatcher first denied the existence of, and then totally destroyed – are this totally unelected Tory Government, with their totally reckless policy of Far-Right Austerity, in which Government spending has been slashed from £692 billions in 2010 to only £760 billions in 2016 – that’s a full £68 billions difference, friends, whatever Hard-Right neoliberal elements, i.e. Liam Byrne, might claim.

No wonder that crime is – literally – going through the roof, friends! And no wonder that those of us on the Progressive Left – and there are many of us, friends, e.g. me – are – literally – revolting!

The US has elected its most dangerous leader. We all have plenty to fear (article by Jonathan Freedland, 9.11.16)

Friends! The election of the Hard-Right Fascist racist neoliberal Fascist Trump is literally the biggest disaster for the world – and indeed elsewhere – since that literally dark day in June when a literally tiny handful of 17,410,742 Far-Right bigots – who, let it never be forgotten, represent absolutely nobody but themselves – voted against Our EU!

The totally sickening and disgraceful behaviour of these vicious voters – whether in the US or in the UK – is literally appalling! HOW DARE THEY!

I for one, friends, do not remotely accept this so-called result, any more than I accept the vicious vote against Our EU. So-called “democracy” is all very well and good in theory, but not when it degenerates in to Mob Rule, which is clearly the case here.

All Hate Votes – whether against Our EU or for the widely-hated Trump – are clearly illegitimate, and must be struck down by Our Judges in Our High Courts. (Those three we used last week should do just fine.)

A second US Election must be held as speedily as possible, so that this – literally – deplorable result can be corrected.

Until this totally undemocratic result has been reversed, friends, those of us on the Progressive Left – and there are still quite a few of us, friends, despite last night’s appalling events – will continually be revolting!

Trump’s election reinforces the need for Britain to turn against Brexit (article by William Keegan, 13.11.16)

Well said, Mr. Keegan.

Far-Right Brexit and Hard-Right Trumpery are – literally – the biggest disaster to befall this world, and indeed elsewhere, since before Hitler was literally born!

No wonder literally nobody voted for either Brexit or Trump, apart from a tiny handful of vicious Far-Right Fascist bigots, who represent absolutely nobody but themselves!

Let us now re-run both the Referendum and the US Presidential Election, friends! And this time, let us make sure that the correct result is obtained, by eliminating, respectively, the “Leave” and “Trump” options on the ballot paper, to make sure that people are able to select the correct option without such Hard-Right neoliberal distractions confusing their poor, befuddled, racist minds!

Only that way, friends, can we build a new, caring, sharing, compassionate society – which, never let it be forgotten, Thatcher first denied the existence of, and then totally destroyed – in which all shades of enlightened opinion are fully represented, and vicious Hard-Right neoliberal racist intolerance is totally smashed, as part of the new, kinder and gentler politics.

The Guardian view on climate change: Trump spells disaster (editorial, 13.11.16)

Friends! Far-Right Climate Change is real, it is deadly, and it is happening NOW! The only people who claim otherwise are Hard-Right Deniers, who are just like those people who, back in the 1970s, claimed that oil literally would not run out in 30 years’ time.

Like vicious Far-Right Trumpery and Hard-Right Brexit, Far-Right Climate Change literally threatens the very existence of Our Earth – and indeed elsewhere, e.g. my native Mars – and if unchecked, will literally fry the planet, causing every single Earthling to literally drown!

And yet, despite all this, Hard-Right elements cannot understand why those of us on the Progressive Left – and there are still quite a few of us, friends, despite Brexit, Trump and Thatcher – are literally revolting!

Lefty’s Friday Selection Of Tweets, 15th-22nd September

Hello, friends.

And due to the large number of tweets (over 30!) in this week’s edition, plus the fact that extra text is now being introduced in to quite a few of them, this introduction is another brief one. [Thank goodness for small mercies, eh! J.C. Oh Jeremy! Why do you have to literally ruin everything with your literally snide remarks?L.]

My thanks as ever to everyone whose tweets I’ve reused/mentioned here, and to those good people who’ve contributed to the threads, which (as not everyone appears to realise) can easily be read here, by dint of simply clicking on the tweet in question!

Saveed Miliband’s “Guardian” Pieces, Part 26: Two Comments On Brexit From November 2016

Hello, friends.

And I expect you’re all looking forward to Our Vince’s speech to Our LibDems this afternoon as much as I am, aren’t you, friends? Hard-Right elements claim that Our Vince’s claim that he “could be Prime Minister” is delusional – but just remember this: these are exactly the same people who, just four months ago, also claimed that Jeremy “won’t be Prime Minister after June 8th!” Where are they – literally – now, eh, friends?

Anyway, enough of all this in-depth psephological analysis [Ha!J.C. Oh Jeremy! Stop being such a literally damp squib! – L.]. Here’s the latest instalment of Saveed’s Greatest Hit-ettes: two pieces I wrote in the Far-Right Guardian last November. As ever, a link to the original article and my comment, along with any replies, is provided under each piece.

Brexit so complex it could overwhelm politicians, warn senior academics (2.11.16)

Friends! This highly objective report literally proves what those of us in the Remain Camp have been saying ever since that literally dark day of June 23rd, when a tiny handful of 17,410,742 of Hard-Right bigots – who, friends, represent literally nobody but themselves – viciously voted against Our EU.

Friends, leaving Our EU would not just be literally a disaster – look at what has happened to the British economy just as a result of the June 23rd vote! It has literally tanked! – but, put at its absolute simplest so that it can be understood by even the meanest intelligence, e.g. me, it would be far too complicated!

Although the vicious claim that Our EU has imposed lots of laws on the UK since we joined in 1973 is as big a LIE as all the LIES of the Leave Camp (anyone else remember the “£350 billion per minute extra for Our NHS from 24th June, if there is a Leave vote? Another Leave Camp LIE!), nonetheless the literally thousands of laws – all completely necessary, of course – that we have taken on board since joining Our EU will need to be dealt with, one way or another. (Heaven forfend that any of them could simply be repealed! That would literally be neoliberalism gone crazy!)

I have a proposal, instead. Why don’t the Leave Camp now just come clean and admit that all the LIES they told during the Referendum Campaign – which, by the way, they never seem to tire of re-fighting, even though they clearly lost, at least in a strictly moral sense – were, quite simply LIES?

Why don’t they admit that, for instance, any immigration controls are inherently racist, and therefore should be abolished?

That it is literally impossible to trade with any country in the world – and indeed elsewhere – without the permission of Our EU Commissioners?

That it is a complete LIE to say that Britain pays *anything* in to the EU Budget, given that – as all leading experts, e.g. me, have conclusively demonstrated – for every £1 that we pay in, we receive at least £1000 back, in terms of economic growth?

That the only people fit to run this so-called country – which Thatcher totally destroyed – are Our EU Commissioners, whose democratic credentials are as impeccable as their honesty and their competence?

Let us now all admit, friends, that a huge MISTAKE was made in June by some poor (literally! Uneducated oiks doesn’t even begin to describe them!) deluded racist fools, who simply didn’t understand what they were voting for!

And let us now plead with Our EU for forgiveness, and beg with them to allow us to remain as members! And if they are so graceful as to accede to our request, let us then thank them by increasing our current Budget contribution from the current, miserable level of £10 billion/year net – or whatever it is! Whatever it is, it is far too low! – to something a lot more substantial. Away with Hard-Right Tory Austerity, friends! Let us invest in Our EU!

That, friends, would be the truly fair, democratic and Progressive way to proceed, and as such is commended by all leading fair-minded, heavyweight and objective commentators, i.e. me.

High court says parliament must vote on triggering article 50 – as it happened (3.11.16)

Friends! This is the most joyful day for those of us in the Remain Camp since that literally dark day in June, when a tiny handful of 17,410,742 bigots – who literally represent absolutely nobody but themselves – viciously voted against Our EU!

Thank goodness for Our High Court’s principled stance against Hard-Right Mob Rule, friends! We really cannot have incredibly complicated decisions, e.g. on who governs us, to be made by an ignorant rabble of uneducated racists.

Those of us in the Remain Camp are only asking that the final decision to overturn Hard-Right Brexit should be democratically taken by Our MPs, whose unimpeachable integrity and wisdom cannot ever possibly be gainsaid.

Personally – and this is literally my personal view, friends – I think it would actually be much better if the decision to stay in Our EU were to be taken by Our Judges, who being so much wiser and impartial than MPs – who, after all, are often swayed by short-term electoral considerations – could be relied upon to take the correct decision.

But as long as the decision about Our EU is not made by members of the electorate who – as June 23rd clearly demonstrated – have an irrational passion for out-dated and indeed racist concepts such as “sovereignty” and, even worse, “democracy”, then I will reluctantly acquiesce in Our MPs’ decision to abandon this whole vicious Brexit nonsense, providing they can implement it as speedily as possible.

Otherwise, we, the 48% – who, let it never be forgotten, are the majority (other than in the tiresomely pedantic, mathematical sense) – will have to appeal to Our European Court of Human Rights, to uphold the Human Rights of Us, the 48%, to Remain in Our EU, which have been literally trampled underfoot by this totally unelected Tory Government.

Lefty’s Friday Selection Of Tweets, 8th-15th September

Hello, friends.

And because there’s a rather larger number of tweets here this week – despite Brexit – along with the fact that I can’t actually think of anything worthwhile to say here [No change there then, Lefty!J.C. Jeremy, I am growing more than a little weary of your constant backbiting and sniping! Kindly desist, and get on with your Prime Ministerial duties of bringing down this totally unelected Tory Government!L.], this introductory piece is shorter than usual, due to Hard-Right Tory Austerity. I hope you’ll – literally – forgive me for such – literally – unforgiveable brevity. Anyway, here are the latest tweets. My thanks as ever to everyone whose tweets I’ve reused/mentioned here.

Saveed Miliband’s “Guardian” Pieces, Part 25: Two Comments (On Brexit And Neoliberal Opinion Polls) From October And November 2016

Hello, friends.

And I expect that you’re all as heartbroken as I am about Monday’s vote for the Second Reading of the widely-hated, literally Fascist EU Withdrawal Bill, aren’t you, friends? I was – literally – sobbing all night at the truly dreadful news, and even now, I am having difficulty controlling my emotions at this literally Hitlerite decision!

Puzzled, friends!

I know that some of you are extremely worried that an ardent European like Jeremy might be utterly downcast by Monday night’s vote.  But I have good news for you! Rather surprisingly, friends, Jeremy actually seems to be coping with this terribly sad news remarkably well.

After the result was announced, I couldn’t help observing that his smiles grew ever-broader, his laughs louder and heartier, and his general mood more and more sunny, even as the rest of us passionate Europeans got steadily more depressed as the awful news sank in.  What a tribute this is to Jeremy’s general stamina and ability to withstand the hard knocks of political life, friends!

Anyway, enough of this hard-hitting analysis of the current political landscape [Ha!J.C.], which has disturbing parallels with 1930s Germany. Here’s the latest instalment of Saveed’s Greatest Hit-ettes: two pieces I wrote in the Far-Right Guardian last October and November. As ever, a link to the original article and my comment, along with any replies, is provided under each piece.

UK economy up 0.5% since Brexit vote, Nissan to build new Qashqai in Sunderland – as it happened (27.10.16)

Friends! Clearly, this latest piece of economic news is a bit of a disappointment to those of us in the Remain Camp, who obviously would have welcomed a much slower rate of growth – negative growth would, of course, have been best of all – to confirm the obvious fact that the vote for Brexit in June was literally catastrophic.

But let us not despair, friends! The fact that all the experts may have got things wrong up till now, should not in any way discourage us.

For one thing, the fact that Our EU Experts have been so magnificently consistent in the inaccuracy of their forecasts so far, surely means that their forecasts for what will happen in 2017 and beyond, as a result of Hard-Right Brexit, must surely have a very good chance of turning out to be correct. They can’t continue to be wrong indefinitely, surely? Just on statistical grounds alone, there must be a very good chance that, after producing such an impressively consistent run of totally incorrect predictions, they must finally be right next time.

And even if they just happen to be wrong about 2017, at some point in the future – even if by sheer luck – they are likely to be right about the economy turning down. And when that happy day finally dawns, we in the Remain Camp – and there are many of us, friends, e.g. Anna Soubry, Nicky Morgan, Tony Blair, Peter Mandelson, Our City, Our Bank of England, Our Bankers, Our Forex Dealers, and many, many other Progressive Left elements – will finally be able to rejoice as we survey the literally barren landscape of post-Brexit Britain, confident in the knowledge that all this economic devastation has been wreaked by a tiny handful of 17,410,742 Far-Right racists and bigots who (a) represent absolutely nobody but themselves and (b) did not know what they were voting for, because they were literally taken in by the LIES of the Leave Camp, e.g. a minimum of an extra £350 trillion per week for Our NHS, every single minute of every single day, from 24th June onwards. (Where IS this £350 trillion per second now, friends? Literally in the bin, that’s where!)

And when that joyful day literally dawns, friends, those of us in the Remain Camp will literally be able to say “We told you so, you bunch of Hard-Right bigots!”. And the scales will finally – literally – fall from the eyes of the Leavers, and they will be literally begging the Hard-Right Bullingdon Bully Boy May to allow Britain to re-join Our EU, so that we once again can belong to that economic power-house where youth unemployment in countries such as Spain, Portugal and Greece is at levels that the Far-Right May can only dream of, and where many, many banks in countries such as Italy and Germany are practically solvent.

But then, why would such an economic Colossus as Our EU – which is every bit as successful economically as it is truly democratic – ever want Austerity-ravaged Britain, which Thatcher totally destroyed – back in? No, by then, it will be literally too late, and Britain will continue to sink in to a quicksand of its own making, with total economic collapse the very least of its problems. Britain will then be not just the laughing-stock but also literally the Pariah of the world, and indeed elsewhere!

And personally, friends, I literally cannot wait for that happy time to arrive.

Ukip leadership candidates debate on LBC – Politics live (1.11.17)

Friends! So-called “opinion polls” are utterly worthless, because they are literally nothing more than a neoliberal tool which is used in order to reinforce a Far-Right neoliberal hegemonistic paradigm that is naturally beloved by the 1% and Banksters, along with their Hard-Right running-dogs, e.g. the Hard-Right so-called Guardian newspaper, whose anti-Socialist, anti-Our EU bias is obvious to even the meanest intelligence, i.e. me.

Nonetheless, the news that the Tory lead over Labour has been literally slashed by a full percentage point is literally the best news for those of us on the Progressive Left since Jeremy literally smashed the Far-Right Red Tory Traitor, Owen so-called Jones, in September’s Leadership Election, in which 300,000 odd people gave Jeremy their votes – often, so I am told, several times, such was their sheer enthusiasm!

The fight-back literally starts here, friends! This opinion poll’s findings, expertly produced by experts – and we on the Progressive Left always take experts seriously, unlike Hard-Right elements – clearly show that Labour has literally turned the corner in public popularity! It is all – literally – uphill from now on! And if we can just keep our nerve, and, like bears in the wood, stick together through thick and thin, an election landslide surely awaits us in May 2020, or whenever the cowardly Bullingdon Bully Boy May dares to call it!

But, of course, until that happy day literally dawns, friends, those of us on the Progressive Left – and we contain many Progressive elements , e.g. Stalinists, Maoists, Anarchists, Trotskyists, Communists, Leninists, Greens, and Our Junior Doctors – will continually be revolting!

Lefty’s Friday Selection Of Tweets, 1st-8th September

Hello, friends.

And I expect that you’re all as happy as I am that the Far-Right Mogg has – literally – shot himself in the foot with his vicious remarks about Our Abortions and Our Gay Marriage, aren’t you? That’s his leadership ambitions – literally – up in smoke eh!

Puzzled, friends!

I must admit, friends, that I’m a little puzzled as to why those of us on the Progressive Left are quite so happy that the hated Mogg no longer has any chance of becoming Tory leader, given that, as we all know, he would stand no chance whatsoever of winning a General Election against Jeremy, any more than the hated May managed to in June [Groan!J.C. Oh Jeremy! That wasn’t actually intended to be a pun!L.]. But hey, what do I know? [You said it, Lefty!J.C. No, Jeremy! I *asked* it!L. Pedant!J.C.].

Anyway, enough of this in-depth analysis of recent political trends [Ha!J.C.]. Here’s my latest selection of tweets. My thanks as ever to everyone whose tweets I’ve reused/mentioned here.

Lefty’s Friday Selection Of Tweets, 13th August-1st September

Hello, friends.

And I expect you’re all hoping, like me, that Britain will soon agree to pay Our EU’s very modest £100 billion fee for viciously attempting to leave, aren’t you, friends?

And how typical that Hard-Right Leavers claim that such a reasonable fee is “outrageous”, and ask “Where will the money come from to pay such a large amount?” when, as we all know, we can simply print the money, as Our German Friends did with such notable success in their Progressive Left Weimar Republic days! Talk about economic illiteracy, friends!

Vicious Tory Austerity, friends!

But then, what else should we expect from this totally unelected Tory Government and its vicious attacks on some of the most poor, disadvantaged and vulnerable people in Our EU – which Thatcher totally destroyed [Some mistake there, surely, Lefty?J.C.] – e.g. Our President Juncker and Our Barnier?

Anyway, enough of this literally penetrating analysis of the total disaster that Tory Austerity potentially represents to Our EU. Here’s my latest selection of tweets. My thanks as ever to everyone whose tweets I’ve reused/mentioned here.
