Lefty’s Friday Selection Of Tweets, 23rd-30th June

Hello, friends.

And I expect that you’re all as pleased as I am that Jeremy has – literally – slapped down those Far-Right Red Tory Traitors in his party who last night viciously voted against Britain remaining in Our EU Our Single Market [No, Lefty – it was because they voted for Britain remaining in the Single Market! Do keep up! J.C. Jeremy, this is appalling! The main reason Our Youth voted Labour three weeks ago, after all, was for free stuff so that Labour would keep us in Our EU, which for all its faults, e.g. its Hard-Right neoliberalism, nevertheless is the nearest thing we have to Paradise On Earth. L. Sigh! J.C.].

Oh dear – it seems that, once again, I’ve got the wrong end of the Far-Right bargepole on this. Hey ho, friends: Jeremy is a remarkably mercurial fellow, and I – literally – don’t know what’s going on in his mind half the time. [Judging from your utterances here, Lefty, I’d put that figure at closer to 100%!J.C.]

Anyway, enough of all this shrewd political analysis [Ha!J.C.] – here’s my most recent batch of tweets.  (My thanks as ever to everyone whose tweets I’ve reused here.)

Saveed Miliband’s “Guardian” Pieces, Part 17: Seven Brief Comments From July-August 2016

Hello, friends.

And I expect you’re all still – literally – reeling from Jeremy’s amazing performance at Our Glasto, aren’t you, friends? Even the Hard-Right BBC had to reluctantly concede that the Far-Right Glasto audience was – literally – eating out of Jeremy’s hand!

Unbelievable, friends!

Wow, what an amazing time it’s been for all of us on the Progressive Left since June 8th, hasn’t it, friends? If anyone had told me, three short weeks ago, that within three short weeks, Jeremy would be the headline act at the Hard-Right Glastonbury, as well as Prime Minister, I – literally – wouldn’t have believed them!

Puzzled, friends!

I must admit, though, friends, that one thing does puzzle me. Given that, as we all know, Jeremy is now Our PM, why is the hated Far-Right Bullingdon Bully Boy May still residing in the Hard-Right Downing Street? And, for that matter, why is Our John (he of the Little Read Book fame) telling us that we need a million people on the streets on July 1st to force another election, given that, as we all know, Labour won the General Election?

Hey ho, I guess we mustn’t get bogged down by neoliberal pedantry, friends. Anyway, here’s my latest selection of Saveed’s Greatest Hitettes from the Far-Right Guardian. As ever, a link to the original article and my comment, along with any replies, is provided under each piece.

Labour has the stench of death – meet the killers (article by Nick Cohen, 17.7.16)

In reply to Sirhlyon:

It is also completely untrue to say middle class labour voters don’t want tax rises. Every labour supporter I know would support them.

That is my experience too. Every single Labour supporter I know wants tax rises on the better-off, i.e. people who are better-off than them.

One month after the referendum, are predictions of Brexit blight coming true? (survey, 23.7.16)

Friends! Those of us on the Progressive Left – and there are many of us, friends, e.g. me – are naturally extremely concerned about Our Estate Agents and Our Bankers being negatively affected by Brexit.

Unemployment being at its lowest level for over a decade is no consolation at all.

https://www.theguardian.com/business/2016/jul/23/brexit-one-month-after-referendum-blight-predictions#comment-79752417

British economy begins to show signs of post-Brexit slowdown (report, 28.7.16)

Friends! Only the 1% and the Banksters benefit from Brexit! No wonder the IMF, Treasury, Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan campaigned so hard for the Leave campaign!

And now, with the British economy literally collapsing, this totally unelected Government is going to pay for this crisis of Neoliberal Brexitism by savagely attacking some of the weakest and most vulnerable people in our so-called society – which, friends, never let it be forgotten, Thatcher first denied the existence of, and then totally destroyed – i.e. Our Junior Doctors, who are now being forced to work 95-hour weeks on Zero Hour Contracts for poverty pay, while the evil Bullingdon Bully Boy Hunt sadistically quaffs champagne whilst burning £50 notes in front of them.

No wonder, friends, that we on the Progressive Left are revolting!

European banks prepare for possible shockwaves from stress test results (report, 26.7.16)

Friends! Please do not forget that, if any European banks should go under, that the problem all started in America in 2008, i.e. Northern Rock in 2007, when the Banksters – e.g. that bigoted woman, the Hard-Right Duffy – predictably wrecked everything, which no-one could have predicted, least of all Our Gordon, who after all had abolished Boom and Bust, and in any case was only in charge of the British economy at the time, and who subsequently saved the World, and indeed elsewhere, before the Tories once again wrecked everything by their policy of extreme Austerity and ever-higher Bedroom Taxes.

My partner and I are at breaking point over Brexit (piece by Mariella Frostrup, 31.7.16)

Friends! Believe it or not, things could be worse.

I once had a partner who confessed to me that she had actually considered voting Tory in the 1983 General Election in which – as many of you doubtless remember – Thatcher barely scraped to victory.

More recently, I had a friend – now, obviously, an “ex-friend” – who refused to rule out ever voting UKIP, on the spurious grounds that “It might depend a bit on what their policies actually are in the future”.

Friends, those of us on the Progressive Left – and there are many of us, friends, e.g. me – are constantly faced with appalling dilemmas like these, which challenge our broad-minded, liberal and above all tolerant views.

For me, friends, the answer is always crystal-clear: Never tolerate Far-Right racists and bigots in any shape or form. Their sheer unbridled neoliberalism disgusts me.

Donald Trump’s treatment of a crying baby reveals his total lack of empathy (article by Jonathan Freedland, 3.8.16)

Friends! This courageous, outspoken baby was obviously protesting as loudly as it could against Far-Right Neoliberal Racist Fascism, in the only way it knew how to.

No wonder Hard-Right bigots wish to deny babies the right to vote – the cynical calculation being that, since babies have not yet been totally brainwashed by the Far-Right Murdoch-controlled Monopoly Media, e.g. the Hard-Right Guardian, they will invariably vote for the Progressive Left candidate.

And then people wonder why those of us on the Progressive Left are revolting!

If peers apply the brakes to Brexit, we’ll be doing our job (article by Patience Wheatcroft, 5.8.16)

Well said, Patience.

Obviously, the fact that, as you so wisely point out, “some who voted out are already voicing misgivings”, is a compelling reason to have a second Referendum, especially as extensive and reliable polling evidence – carried out by myself – shows that not a single person who voted Remain has changed their minds, and are as one in knowing that their decision was utterly correct, especially given that all the Remain Campaign’s warnings about total economic collapse, accelerating Climate Change, World War III and higher roaming charges have now come true with a vengeance.

Whether they realise it or not, that tiny handful of 17,410,742 Hard-Right racists, who misguidedly voted against Our EU in June, are either members of the 1%, or are their running-dogs. And in either case, friends, they speak for absolutely nobody but themselves.

Thank goodness, friends, that Our House of Lords are prepared to stand up for the ordinary, decent, 48% of us who voted for Hope rather than Hate. Even though we may have “lost” the (first) Referendum, that was only in the purely mathematical sense.

We, friends, are the Moral Majority, and we shall – and must – prevail.

Lefty’s Friday Selection Of Tweets, 16th-23rd June

Hello, friends.

And as you are all doubtless aware, for those of us on the Progressive Left, today is a Day Of Mourning: the first anniversary of last year’s Hate Vote against Our EU, which as we all know led to a huge outbreak of Hate Crimes – e.g. the woman who gave me a funny look while I was shouting “Evil racist Tory scum!” at her the other day – along with the total economic collapse of the British economy, higher roaming charges, accelerating Climate Change and World War III, as exclusively predicted by Our Experts, who were as accurate as they always are when predicting these future catastrophes.

Delusional, friends!

And yet, when you point out these self-evident truths to Hard-Right, racist elements, e.g. that bigoted woman Duffy, who destroyed Our Gordon’s End To Boom And Bust by her reckless gambling on Our Northern Rock [Hang on, Lefty! Are you quite sure about this? Must admit, that’s not my exact recollection!J.C. Oh Jeremy! It’s all there on the internet, if you look hard enough! L.], they just laugh in your face and say “you’re just making this all up!” Talk about delusional, eh friends!

Anyway, enough of all this in-depth political and economic analysis [Ha!J.C.]. Here’s the latest batch of tweets. (My thanks to everyone whose tweets I’ve reused here.)

My Piece In Today’s Far-Right Guardian, Which Supports Our Owen’s Thesis On Why The Racist Neoliberal Paradigm Is – Literally – Crumbling, Friends!

Hello, friends.

And here is my latest piece in today’s Far-Right Guardian, in which I – literally – support Owen Smith’s [It’s Jones, Lefty!J.C. Oh Jeremy! Stop confusing me with all these names, and go back to your constituency and – literally – prepare for Government! L.] very wise piece on why this totally unelected Tory Government is about to collapse, and will be replaced by Jeremy and his splendid team, e.g. Our John (he of the Little Read Book fame) and Our Diane, in literally a few days’ time.

As ever, a link to the original article and my comment, along with any replies, is provided under the piece.

The old Tory order is crumbling – it’s taken Grenfell for us to really see it (Article by Owen Smith/Jones, 22.6.17)

Well said, Owen. I agree with everything you’ve written, whatever it was.

Friends! As those of us on the Progressive Left have been arguing since as recently as 2010, this totally unelected Tory Government is – literally – totally unelected; and given the impending total collapse of neoliberalism, i.e. Grenfell, it is surely only a matter of a few days now till the hated May is driven out of Downing Street by the combined force of Our Day Of Rage protesters, whose opposition to Far-Right racism, e.g. that bigoted woman Duffy, is legendary.

A Socialist Alternative, friends!

Of course, at this point, Hard-Right elements always say: “But what’s your alternative”? Fortunately, friends, the answer is – literally – staring us in the face: Our Venezuela, where obscene wealth – indeed, any form of wealth whatsoever – has been totally abolished; and which, despite a few minor transitional problems, e.g. no toilet paper, food shortages, power cuts – which, friends, of course have the benefit of helping to combat dangerous Climate Change – galloping inflation, looting, street violence, etc., is surely a far preferable place to live in than Far-Right Austerity Britain.

And, friends, just in case any Hard-Right neoliberals are about to say “Venezuela doesn’t sound that great!”, I would just point out this unassailable fact, which applies to all failed Socialist states, namely:

Venezuela isn’t *genuine socialism*.

Saveed Miliband’s “Guardian” Pieces, Part 16: Nine Brief Comments From June And July 2016

Hello, friends.

And with Jeremy now poised to consolidate his – literally – unbelievable victory in Our General Election earlier this month by – literally – occupying Our Downing Street, with a little help from Our Momentum Friends, it’s time to resume my long-running series of Saveed Miliband’s comments in the Far-Right Guardian.

This particular edition contains some uncharacteristically brief comments, the final one being a mere three words which, as I explain below, was actually a mistake, but one which elicited a very good reply, which justified my otherwise unjustifiable error.

As ever, a link to the original article and my comment, along with any replies, is provided under each piece.

Working-class Britons feel Brexity and betrayed – Labour must win them over (article by Owen Jones, 10.6.16)

Well said, Owen. I agree with everything you’ve written, whatever it was.

We on the Progressive Left – and there are many of us, friends, e.g. me – must now rally behind Our Dave and other progressive elements, i.e. Our IMF, Our Goldman Sachs, Our NATO, Our CBI etc. etc. to save Our EU, which is under sustained attack by Hard-Right elements, e.g. Dennis Skinner, Arthur Scargill, George Galloway and the Socialist Workers Party.

Leaving Our EU would be the end of Our EU as we know it, friends; and quite frankly, World War III – which, by the way, Friend Dave never said *would* happen if we left the EU, only that it was a highly probable event – is just one of the potentially milder consequences of Brexit. Higher roaming charges would be a dead cert, along with the possibility of quite a few redundancies in Brussels.

Friends, let us now put our footling political differences with Our Dave aside, and join with him to save Our EU.

.My Blog, as ever, leads the way:

A second EU referendum could pull us out of the fire. Let’s make it happen (article by Geraint Davies, 30.6.16)

Last week’s so-called Referendum was, of course, totally unnecessary, unwanted and undemocratic.

The result was a mass rejection of Far-Right Tory Austerity, which has been deliberately perpetuated by this totally unelected Tory Government as part of its attack on some of the weakest, poorest and most vulnerable members of our society – which Thatcher denied the existence of, and then destroyed – e.g. Our Junior Doctors.

Therefore, friends, we must hold a second Referendum to obtain the correct result, i.e. to stay in Our EU – and indeed a third, or as many as are needed – because the issue of Our EU is far too important to be decided by a tiny and totally unrepresentative handful of 17,410,742 Far-Right racists who voted for Hate against Hope.

Poll reveals young remain voters reduced to tears by Brexit result (LSE survey, 2.7.16)

This Tory chaos won’t last. Labour must take its chance (article by Polly Toynbee, 4.7.16)

Well said, Polly.

So farewell then, Michael Gove. You were right about one thing (article by Marina Hyde, 7.7.16)

It is utterly typical of this totally unelected Tory Government that the two final contenders for Prime Minister are both women, even though – in yet another example of the kind of disgraceful sexism for which the Tories are notorious – they were not picked from a women-only shortlist.

Andrea Leadsom delights the Tory right. But she may cost them power (article by Matthew D’Ancona, 10.7.16)

There is absolutely no evidence that the Far-Right Neoliberal Andrea Leadsom would be any more successful as Prime Minister than her idol, the totally evil Thatcher, who was so widely hated that she only managed to win three General Elections and cling on to office for 11 years before she was thrown out by a mass uprising of ordinary people, i.e. Tory backbenchers.

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/jul/10/andrea-leadsom-tory-right-party-members-power-leadership-election#comment-78679048

Only a general election can give the next government a mandate (article by Tim Farron, 12.7.16)

Very well said, Tim.

It is particularly brave of you to suggest that we have an early General Election, given that there is always a risk – for any political party, even one as overwhelmingly popular as the Liberal Democrats – of losing seats.

But my hunch is that, if an early Election does indeed take place, the LibDems will probably manage to hang on to all but about eight of their current seats.

Like Tim, I am fully prepared to take that risk, in the interests of defeating that tiny and totally unrepresentative handful of 17,410,742 Far-Right racists who have brought about total economic collapse, World War III and higher roaming charges as a result of their vicious votes against Our EU.

Cameron has washed his hands of No 10. But he’s left an almighty mess (article by Polly Toynbee, 13.7.16)

Well said, Polly.

What a contrast Camoron’s departure from Downing Street is with that of the departure of that economic genius, Gordon Brown, who in 2010 bequeathed this country with a growing economy – despite it having been totally destroyed by the Banksters in 2008 – thanks to his abolition of Tory Boom and Bust.

This totally unelected Tory Government has, by contrast, totally destroyed this country with its vicious policy of Far-Right Austerity, which is nothing more than a deliberate and sadistic attack on some of the most vulnerable people in our society – which Thatcher first denied the existence of, and then destroyed – i.e. Our Junior Doctors, who are now forced to work 95-hour weeks on Zero Hour Contracts whilst struggling to pay ever-higher Bedroom Taxes.

No wonder, friends, that we on the Progressive Left are revolting!

Lefty’s Friday Selection Of Tweets, 9th-15th June

Hello, friends.

And what an exhilarating week it’s been for all of us on the Progressive Left, eh friends! Not merely did we – literally –  win last week’s Election, but we already have advanced plans for a Mass Protest about the result, with Our John’s timely plea for a million people to take to the streets, to overthrow this totally unelected Tory Government!

Confused, friends!

I have to admit, friends, I am slightly confused [More than slightly, Lefty!J.C.  Oh Jeremy! Kindly desist from making literally cheap jokes at my expense, and go back to your constituency and prepare for Government!L. No comment! J.C.] as to why, given that Labour won the election, we should need to protest against the result. But I guess that’s – literally – typical of the viciously Hard-Right Bullingdon Bully Boy May’s underhand tactic of clinging to power even though literally no-one voted for her and the hated Tories on 8th June.

But enough of this deep political analysis [Ha! J.C.], friends. Here’s the latest batch of tweets:

My Piece In Today’s Far-Right Guardian, Which Contrasts The LIES Of The Leave Camp With The – Literally – Astonishing Level Of Honesty Of Our Remain Camp, Friends!

Hello, friends.

And this afternoon I have commented on a remarkably fair-minded article in the Far-Right Guardian, which points out how the Leave Campaign’s LIES were – literally – LIES! And, in addition, have remarked upon the author’s failure – the reason for which continues to puzzle me – to mention that the LIES of the Leave Camp contrast dramatically with the honesty of Our Remain Camp, which never once got even close to telling even the smallest porky about the immediate consequences of a vote to Leave last June.

As ever, a link to the original article and my comment, along with any replies, is provided under the piece.

How Vote Leave’s lies could still come back to haunt them (article by Stefan Stern)

Well said, Stefan. It needed to be said, whatever it was.

Friends! As Stefan has so rightly pointed out, the Leave Campaign’s pledges were nothing but a load of Far-Right LIES, emblazoned on the side of a distinctly racist and reactionary omnibus, which was doubtless driven by that bigoted woman, the viciously Hard-Right Duffy.

In case any of you missed it – Stefan barely mentions it here, and of course we Remainers hardly ever talk about it at all – I am, of course, referring to the firm pledge, literally signed in blood by all the leading Leave Camp LIARS, and which I clearly remember stated: “If Britain votes to leave Our EU on 23 June, then we in the Leave Camp hereby guarantee that £350 billion/day extra will be spent on Our NHS from 24 June. No ifs, no buts” – a great fat Far-Right LIE!

Puzzled, friends!

One thing puzzles me, friends. Why does Stefan not contrast the LIES of the Leave Camp with the outstanding, upright honesty of the Remain Camp, which did not in any way descend to scare stories about the consequences of even a vote to Leave, which as we all now know has resulted in an Emergency Budget containing sharp rises in taxation and huge cuts in public spending; a massive downturn in the economy with a huge rise in unemployment; sharply higher interest rates, including mortgage rates; a collapse in Our Stock Market and Our Housing Market (two things particularly dear to the hearts of those of us on the Progressive Left, friends); and various other horrors which, if they haven’t yet come to pass, are only because Brexit hasn’t actually happened yet!

I guess Stefan’s failure to mention the sheer honesty and truthfulness of the Remainers’ campaign must be because this had – literally – slipped his mind. But let us hope that Our Magistrate, when reaching a decision on the case brought by Our Lawyers and Our Academic Expert, will take in to account the quite remarkable levels of honesty and integrity evinced by the Remain Camp, both before and since last June’s Referendum.

Lefty’s Election Selection Of Tweets, 4th-9th June

Hello, friends.

And I expect you’re all as thrilled as I am by Jeremy’s amazing victory in yesterday’s General Election, in which he – literally – smashed the Hard-Right May back on her kitten heels!

OK, we didn’t quite achieve the landslide that we were hoping for, friends! But let there be no doubt: Hard-Right extreme Brexit and vicious Far-Right Tory Austerity have now been consigned to the dustbin of history where they belong!

Because I’ve been tweeting quite a lot more than usual, I’ve decided to bring out this special edition of (mostly) General Election-related tweets today, rather than waiting till Sunday, by which time this Blog would be unmanageably long. And I expect that you’re all as worried about the enormous Far-Right backlash against Our Terrorist Community that last night’s unfortunate incidents may spark off, aren’t you, friends? And it appals me that certain bigoted people, e.g. the Far-Right May, are now using these sad circumstances to further their vicious agenda of winning the election by portraying Jeremy as some kind of closet supporter of Our Terrorists when, in fact, he has always been perfectly open in his support for them in the past.

Hey ho, friends: I have no doubt that these Far-Right lies and smears will fail and that, in five days’ time, Jeremy will be – literally – on the brink of becoming Britain’s next Prime Minister, in the same way that he has been ever since he became Labour Leader.

Saveed Miliband’s “Guardian” Pieces, Part 15: Three Comments On Brexit From June 2016

Hello, friends.

And, as I – literally – can’t be bothered to write anything in the Far-Right Guardian at present – its sickeningly pro-Tory, pro-Brexit bias is more than I can stomach, friends – I hope you will forgive me for putting out another instalment of my good friend Saveed’s old pieces instead.

These three comments all come from this time last year when, as you all doubtless recall, the Referendum Campaign was – literally – in full swing, and the Leavers were busily emblazoning Hard-Right LIES on the sides of distinctly racist omnibuses about how, if Leave won the vote, a minimum of £350 billion would be spent on Our NHS every single day from 24th June, which as we all now know was a pack of LIES!

As ever, a link to the original article and my comment, along with any replies, is provided under each piece.

We’re now witnessing the tragic decline of David Cameron (article by John Harris, 2.6.16)

Friends! The hated Camoron is, as we all know, a Far Right Neoliberal whose views are held in total contempt by all fair-minded people on the Progressive Left, i.e. myself.

For the past 6 years, he has led the most Right-wing Government in British history, which has attacked and destroyed the lives of some of the poorest and most vulnerable people in our society – which Thatcher denied the existence of, and then destroyed – i.e. Our Junior Doctors, who are now forced to work 95-hour weeks on Zero Hour Contracts for poverty wages in Our NHS, which this vindictive Government is now totally destroying by privatisation, e.g. by forcing it to operate a totally unnecessary 7-day service, which it already does in any case, and which is the envy of the world and indeed elsewhere.

So, friends, what is the line that we on the Progressive Left should take on Mr. Cameron’s extremely eloquent case for Britain staying in Our EU?

To ask the question, friends, is surely to answer it! There has been a totally nauseating and despicable attack on Friend Cameron by the Far-Right Murdoch-controlled Monopoly Media, e.g. the woman in the Sky News audience last night, on his claim that Britain’s leaving Our EU would lead to World War Three, which is a typical smear that is sadly all too common in this particular world of ours.

What Friend David actually said was very different, friends! He merely pointed out that before Our Reformed EU was created, Europe suffered from two World Wars, in which millions of people died; and that if Britain were to be so foolish and reckless as to leave Our Reformed EU, this would almost certainly lead to another one.

How, friends, anyone can twist Our David’s words in such a way is beyond me! He never even used the term “World War Three”, friends! At this rate, his detractors will soon be claiming that he was predicting severe economic consequences for the UK should we leave the EU! (Which of course, we will, friends.)

Friends, it is time for those of us on the Progressive Left – and there are many of us, friends, e.g. me – to rally behind Our David and ensure a Progressive Vote for Our Reformed EU on 23rd June! Let us build a broad Coalition with progressive elements, e.g. our friends in NATO, the CBI, the EU Commission, Goldman Sachs, the City of London etc. to ensure a massive Remain vote, which will ensure the survival of Our Tory Government and a massive setback for Far-Right trouble-makers, e.g. Arthur Scargill, George Galloway and the Socialist Workers Party.

Let us not fail Our David in his Hour Of Need, friends!

Michael Gove attacks David Cameron over EU ‘scaremongering’ (report, 4.6.16)

Friends! Britain is not an island, other than in the purely factual sense.

Leaving Our EU would, friends, be a massive leap in the dark down a very slippery slope, which, far from being the Damascus Road en route towards the Promised Land, would lead us to nothing more than a Hard-Right pig in a poke buried in a deeply tarnished silver lining, which, when opened, would turn out to be the thin end of a very nasty can of worms indeed!

Let us instead, friends, think outside this particular Pandora’s Box, and push the envelope towards a Socialist Solution! Rather than turning our backs on our European Partners and spitting in their faces, we should work together with them to build a United Socialist States of Europe, with Britain, under Jeremy’s inspired and charismatic leadership, as its pinnacle – a sort of Venezuela of Europe if you like (or indeed, even if you don’t).

Leaving Our EU would, by contrast, represent a victory of all the most vicious and reactionary reactionaries in our so-called society – which, let us never forget, friends, Thatcher first denied the existence of, and then totally destroyed – e.g. the widely-hated Bozo and the evil Bullingdon Bully Boy Gove, who would be totally impossible to get rid of, other than by a General Election.

Friends, we on the Progressive Left will fight, fight and fight again to save Our EU which we love!

Dr Sarah Wollaston defects from Vote Leave to remain campaign (report, 9.6.16)

Friends! Friend Sarah’s courageous switch to the Remain Camp is a definite turning-point in this Referendum campaign!

Which just goes to prove what I have been saying all along: that we on the Progressive Left must rally behind Our Dave and other progressive elements, e.g. Our IMF, Our Goldman Sachs, Our NATO, Our CBI etc. etc. to save Our EU, which is under sustained attack by Hard-Right elements, e.g. Arthur Scargill, George Galloway and the Socialist Workers Party!

Let us put our footling political differences with Dave aside, and join with him to save Our EU!

My Blog as ever, leads the way: “All Of Us On The Progressive Left Must Fight Together To Save Our Dave, Friends!”
